Cause and Effect (sh. Uzrok i posljedica) je epizoda američke science fiction TV-serije Star Trek: The Next Generation, premijerno prikazana 23. marta 1992. godine. Radnja prikazuje kako posada USS Enterprise počinje osjećati deja vu i primjećivati neobične detalje, prije nego što shvati da se nalazi u vremenskoj petlji izazvanom eksplozijom i uništenjem broda nakon sudara sa USS Bozeman.

Epizoda je dobila izuzetne pohvale od strane kritičara, te se smatra jednom od najboljih u historiji serije. Posebne je istaknut scenario Brannona Brage koji započinje spektakularnom scenom uništenja Enterprisea, ali i režija Jonathana Frakesa koji je scene u kojima se ponavlja jedan te isti sadržaj i koriste iste replike postavio na različiti način. U epizodi je u malenoj ulozi kapetana Morgana Batesona, zapovjednika USS Bozeman, nastupio Kelsey Grammer, veliki fan Zvjezdanih staza koji je upravo u to vrijeme u obližnjem studiju bio snimao popularnu TV-seriju Cheers.
