Stillingskrigen i Sør-Palestina var en periode på seks måneder hvor det britiske egyptiske ekspedisjonskorps (EEF) og den osmanske hæren sto overfor hverandre under første verdenskrig uten at det kom til større slag. De to fiendtlige styrkene sto overfor hverandre langs en front, som strakk seg fra Gaza til Beersheba under kampene i Sinai og Palestina, hvor ingen av sidene kunne tvinge den andre siden til å trekke seg tilbake. Stillingskrigen varte fra etter det britiske nederlagey i det andre slaget om Gaza i april 1917 til ekspedisjonskorpset innledet sin offensiv med slaget om Beersheba den 31. oktober 1917.

Innen stillingskrigen begynte, var enheter fra Det osmanske rikets 4. armé blitt tvunget ut av Sinaihalvøya ved en rekke britiske seire: Slaget ved Romani i august 1916, slaget ved Magdhaba i desember og slaget ved Rafah i januar 1917. Det egyptiske ekspedisjonskorps fulgte opp disse seirene ved å foreta to mislykkede forsøk på å erobre Gaza: Første slag om Gaza i mars og Andre slag om Gaza i april. Disse osmanske seirene stoppet ekspedisjonsstyrkens forsøk på å invadere det sørlige Palestina og førte til stillingskrigen.

Under de seks månedene holdt den egyptiske ekspedisjonsstyrke stillinger på kanten av Negevørkenen, mens begge sider var opptatt av skyttergravkrig og imøtegikk patruljeringen av den åpne østlige flanken. Begge sider benyttet seg av muligheten til å reorganisere sine styrker, skifte hærførere, kurse troppene og forberede seg på fremtidige slag, hvilket munnet ut i at den egyptiske ekspedisjonsstyrke erobret Jerusalem i desember 1917.
