Shipley è un collegio elettorale inglese della Camera dei comuni del Parlamento del Regno Unito, situato nel West Yorkshire. Elegge un membro del Parlamento con il sistema maggioritario a turno unico. Il rappresentante del collegio dal 2005 è il conservatore Philip Davies.
Confini
- 1885–1918: il Municipal Borough of Bradford e le parrocchie civili di Clayton, Eccleshill, Idle, North Brierley e Shipley.
- 1918–1950: i distretti urbani di Baildon, Bingley, Guiseley, Shipley e Yeadon e le parrocchie civili di Esholt, Hawksworth e Menston nel distretto rurale di Wharfedale.
- 1950–1983: i distretti urbani di Baildon, Bingley e Shipley.
- 1983–2010: i ward della città di Bradford di Baildon, Bingley, Bingley Rural, Rombalds, Shipley East e Shipley West.

Storia
1885–1970
Il collegio fu creato con il Redistribution of Seats Act 1885 e fino al 1923 fu rappresentato quasi esclusivamente dal Partito Liberale e Arthur Creech Jones fu segretario di Stato per le Colonie dal 1946 al 1950 durante il governo di Clement Attlee.
Dal 1970
Shipley fu per lungo tempo il collegio dell'ex Presidente del Comitato 1922 del Partito Conservatore Sir Marcus Fox, che detenne il seggio per quasi 30 anni tra il 1970 e il 1997.
Alle elezioni del 1997, il candidato del Partito Laburista Chris Leslie conquistò il seggio appartenuto a Fox, divenendo il più giovane deputato di quel Parlamento. Fu rieletto nel 2001, e divenne ministro. Diversi sostenitori laburisti vedevano Leslie come blairista, anche se in effetti era egualmente vicino alle posizioni di Gordon Brown, del quale sposò un membro dello staff.[1]
Leslie perse il seggio per pochi voti alle elezioni del 2005, quando il candidato conservatore Philip Davies lo riconquistò con un vantaggio di soli 422 voti, che incrementarono fino a circa 10.000 voti alle elezioni del 2010.
