Symbols of Colotlán
The symbols of Colotlán, Mexico, were officially adopted as symbols of the municipality, are coat of arms and flag. Other symbol is the scorpion.
Coat of arms
This is the coat of arms of the municipality of Colotlán.[1] Its meaning is “Alongside the scorpions” and it is represented by a crown at the top and a scorpion in the center of the heraldic field; the meaning comes from the Nahuatl language. Up there is a Castilian crown, this coat of arms is Spanish style.[2]

The flag of Colotlán consists of a red rectangle with a ratio of four to seven; in the center it bears the Municipal Coat of arms in gold, placed in such a way that it occupies three-quarters of the width.[3][4]
