It has an area of 739 km2 and a population of 97,411 at the 2006 census.

Mikang LGA has an average temperature of 29 degrees Celsius and a total area of 739 square kilometers. There are two distinct seasons in the LGA: the rainy and the dry seasons. The total amount of precipitation in the LGA is estimated to be 1450 mm annually.[2][3]
