Ifigenia Martha Martínez y Hernández (born 16 June 1930) is a Mexican economist, diplomat and politician serving since 2024 as the President of the Chamber of Deputies. Throughout her career, she has been affiliated with various political parties, including the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), and the National Regeneration Movement (Morena).

Martínez completed her undergraduate studies in economics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and later earned a master's degree in economics from Harvard University. From 1966 to 1970, she led the Faculty of Economics at UNAM.

Alongside Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas and Porfirio Muñoz Ledo, she founded the Party of the Democratic Revolution. She has been elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1976,[1] 1994,[2] 2009,[3] and 2024,[4] and to the Senate in 1988 for the Federal District and in 2018 through proportional representation.[5]
